summer vacation, here i come!

I am SO ready and so excited for my summer vacation this year. The last few weeks of school (12 days) will certainly keep me entertained until June 5th hits - next Tuesday I am taking my advanced art students to the DMA and Nasher for the day. There are only 6 of them and they are upper-level kids so I think we will have a REALLY great time! They are all very excited about it. Here's a photo from a few years ago that I took in the Nasher garden (pre-tattoo).

This summer (especially June) will be really big for us. Not only are we celebrating our FIRST ANNIVERSARY, we are also taking a wonderful long-weekend anniversary getaway trip to Orlando, Florida. We have so much in mind as far as what to do while we're there, so we just have to narrow everything down. Matt has never been to Florida, and since I've traveled there 3-4 times, plus I used to live there, I have a pretty good idea of the best things to do and see. We are both really excited, it gives us both something to look forward to, and it will be right after I get out of school for the summer.

Matt was also recently offered a position to move up to the McKinney area and start up and run a new body shop - as MANAGER! We are thrilled! God has truly blessed us beyond words! All I can think about every day is how incredibly lucky and thankful we are for all that has come our way. It will be a new experience and surely very stressful at first, but we can't wait to see all that God has in store for us as a result of this new position.

I also received a generous grant from the state because of the school that I work at, so Matt & I will be spending it to get a new iMac computer, which we are really, really pumped about. The computer I have is old...you know how the saying goes about, "in dog years..." well, in "computer years" mine is about to kick the bucket! I'm excited to play with our new toy while enjoying my summer vacation.

I really just can't wait to cut into that chocolate wedding cake when we get back from Orlando....
