Matt's birthday was last week and I treated him to a nice dinner at Fogo de Chao - a Brazilian Steakhouse that was quite an experience. When you arrive, you are seated and given a round card that looks like a coaster - one side is red, the other is green. You turn the green side up and they bring on the meat! Someone is literally at your table every 30 seconds offering you one of the 16 meats they serve you - anything from top sirloin, bottom sirloin, bacon wrapped filet mignon, chickens, lamb chops, rack of lamb, parmesean crusted pork....the list goes on and on. The coolest part about it is that the meat is brought to your tables on giant swords! They cut off a portion for you and you grab it with your little tongs and get to work! They also brought out lots of yummy sides like garlic mashed potatoes and these little bite-sized cheese rolls.
When I made the reservations I told them it was Matt's birthday, so at the end they brought out a to-die-for layered chocolate cake all decked out with "Happy Birthday" in strawberry sauce and everything! It was so yummy!!I am thrilled to have my summer to create and have lots of wonderful plans :) Here is some of what I'm doing this summer:
*vacation in Orlando to celebrate our FIRST anniversary!
*getting our new iMac computer!
*painting and sewing and creating!
*playing with the art department digital camera I got to borrow for the summer :)
*I was accepted into the Dallas Museum Forum for Teachers (one out of 20), so for a week in July, I get to explore and learn in the 5 major DFW museums, interact with other artists and teachers, and create art!
*I'm teaching the 2nd & 3rd grade Bible class at church! So fun!
*and getting my act together to teach some private lessons! yeah!!
The summer holds many wonderful blessings and plans. I also hope to do a photo shoot with Matt for our first anniversary. I am so incredibly in love :)

RAGAN!!! I miss you SO MUCH! you don't even know. I'm so happy for you that you're in summer now! It sounds like you have AMAZING things coming and happening!!! congrats on the DMFT! I can't wait to hear all about that. When are you off to Orlando? I LOVE the new Flickr stuff...esp the becoming one painting and bible covers! I want one! :) lots of love!
ReplyDeleteWow! Sounds like an awesome summer! I didn't notice "lunch dates with Lindsay and Emory" on your list -it may need a revision. :) If you haven't already gotten someone to do pictures of you two, I may know someone ... :). What a cute idea!
