beautiful hearts, pure lives

Wow am I late on this post! *sigh*
Here, finally, for your viewing pleasure, is my first completed painting for the Sacred Selections auction coming up in a few weekends. I used the lyrics from one of my favorite hymns, "How Beautiful". "How beautiful when humble hearts give the fruit of pure lives so that others may live". I think it's just beautiful when Christians adopt children and bring them into their home so that they can live a life with Christ that they may otherwise never have known. They give their children the gift of a lifetime - a chance to know the Savior, live an incredible life in His light, and spend eternity with Him! This particular verse in this song is about parenting and I thought it very appropriate for this special painting.
Ironically, while I was working on this painting, a baby boy named Andrew - who was in desperate need waiting for a heart transplant - received the news that a heart had been donated for him. Wow! I was literally sitting with paintbrush in hand when I read the status update on my Facebook. I turned and looked at the painting - "humble hearts give so that others may live" stood out to me and I thought to myself, this painting just took on a completely new meaning! It was an incredible moment!
I really enjoyed using some new techniques and am so happy with the way it turned out. I can't wait to finish the others and show them to you!
If you love this painting and would like to have one for your own, I will have prints available in my etsy shop very soon!
Thanks for reading!
