Since I grew up in the northern mid-west, fall has been my FAVORITE. I have memories of pumpkin picking, hayrides, bonfires, s'mores, and apple cider. We were surrounded by the firey trees on every hill, the cool, crisp air, and the golden afternoon sunlight. But it's a little different - and a little shorter and less beautiful - here. That hasn't stopped me from pulling out the decorations. One of the first areas to receive attention has been our front porch.
I snagged some great pinspiration for this wreath I made, and I'm in love with the pop of color it gives to our glossy black front door.
Pumpkins: too early? I say, as soon as the markets start putting them out, it's time. It was also time to replace my dried up hydrangeas with some yellow mums. These little artificial topiaries from Garden Ridge gave the arrangements some variety and height.
Now is also a great time to show you a little before & after of our front door, from earlier this summer when I painted it.I looove the glossy black. It's such a happy front porch! We will probably add some more pumpkins as we visit the local pumpkin patches and it becomes a little more "appropriate". Fall is on its way. Can you feel it?
I'm thinking of doing a 31 days of fall series for the month of October, where each week I will share different fall-themed activities, recipes, images, and favorite memories from that week. What do you think??
Happy Monday,
